Up to 3,000 ‘free’ kilometers

You know Abt mainly from the models of brands such as Audi and Volkswagen, which have been tackled both motorically and optically, but in the form of Abt e-Line, the company also has a department that is mainly concerned with the development of electrical hardware. You can already turn to Abt e-Line for electric versions of the Volkswagen Caddy and Transporter and a Volkswagen is also involved in the company’s latest project. Even one that has always had an electric powertrain: Volkswagen the ID Buzz.
The Volkswagen ID Buzz will not receive any extra power from Abt e-Line, but will be fitted with solar panels. The ID Buzz will have a set of panels on its roof that can recharge with up to 600W. The Germans even say they are considering also coming up with panels for the flanks of the ID Buzz. An ID Buzz that also has these panels should be able to recharge with up to 1,000 watts in the sun. According to Abt e-Line, the panels can give you 3,000 ‘free’ EV kilometers per year at best. The panels for the ID Buzz will become available in 2024.
