Volkswagen outlines new Amarok

During an extensive press conference in which the Volkswagen Group looked back at the financial results of fiscal year 2019, the brand showed a sketch of the brand new Amarok.

During the press conference just held, Volkswagen announced, among other things, that it will come up with a series of autonomous and semi-autonomous ‘mobility solutions’ based on the ID.Buzz. More concrete news comes in the form of a design sketch of the brand new second generation of the Amarok.

The design sketch shows a very rough looking pick-up with a double cabin. You can count on the final production version to have a more subdued appearance. For example, the heavy off-road tires do not come under the regular flavors of the new Amarok and things like the orange accents are typical details for a nice-looking marketing record. After all, before the introduction of the new Caddy, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles also showed a properly drawn drawing of the orderer.

The new Amarok is a special model for Volkswagen. It is the first commercial vehicle of the brand that it developed together with Ford. So assume that Ford will come with a brand new Ranger in the near future. In addition, it is also obvious that Ford will eventually push forward a completely new Transit Connect that shares subcutaneous technology with the aforementioned new Caddy. In 2019, Ford and Volkswagen signed a deal that said the two commercial vehicle companies will work together. In addition, Ford and Volkswagen signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the time, stating that the two companies will explore ways of working together on autonomous cars, EVs and mobility services.

The new Amarok will go into production in 2022. Once on the market, those car pick-ups like the Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi L200 / Triton and Nissan Navara are facing themselves as competitors.
