ID1, ID2, ID Aero and crossover brother of ID3 on the way

Volkswagen will only sell fully electric passenger cars in Europe from 2033. Volkswagen previously indicated that sometime between 2033 and 2035 it would kill the sale of cars with a combustion engine in Europe.
Automotive News writes on the basis of statements by none other than Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schäfer that Volkswagen will only sell electric passenger cars in Europe from 2033. Initially, the brand said that would happen from 2035 at the latest.
The ID3, ID4, ID5 and ID Buzz are currently the only Volkswagen electric cars in Europe, but a significant number will be added until 2026. Until 2026, Volkswagen will present no fewer than ten completely new electric models. One of these is the already announced small electric car that is being developed by Seat and of which Cupra and Skoda will also receive a derivative in addition to Volkswagen. At the bottom of the EV range, according to Schäfer, there will be both a compact crossover and a small electric hatchback. These models may therefore be called ID1 and ID2. In addition, Volkswagen will come up with an electric alternative to the Passat, which it already looked forward to with the ID Aero Concept and ID Space Vizzion.
More ID news is in the pipeline. For example, the ID3 will receive a facelift in 2023. What can you expect from that? More than just a custom bumper. According to Schäfer, the ID3 is making strides in terms of material use and stability of various systems. The CEO does not say the latter for nothing, because the ID3 had a difficult start in that area. In addition, a crossover-like version of the ID3 should also appear. At the time of writing, it is not yet clear whether this will be a raised and roughened ID3 or really a new body style with ID3 technology.
