Daf or Volvo?

Anyone who wants to bring a special piece of Dutch history into their home can place this special classic on their doorstep for relatively little money. A Volvo 66, or is it still a Daf 66?
Once again something special appears in our used car range; a Volvo 66 offered as a Daf 66. Or is it really still a Daf 66 that simply pretends to be a Volvo? The latter might just be possible. On paper it is also a Daf 66 and as far as we know, the Daf 66 was only transformed into a Volvo 66 in 1975, a year after this copy left the production line. Then it could possibly be an early pre-series example, but the car was already registered in July 1974, so that would be very early.
Perhaps a bit of home care to give the Daf 66 a more modern look? In any case, it really looks like a Volvo 66, with its thicker bumpers and the Volvo grille. The type plates on the back and the steering wheel also belong to a Volvo 66. The tailgate, among other things, shows that it is a GL, while the advertisement and the license plate details refer to a Daf 66 De Luxe (DL). We already had a Daf 66 De Luxe from a year later in this section and it really looked a bit different, also on the inside.
The thick automatic lever and steering wheel belong in a Volvo 66.
Be that as it may, for €2,750 you get a small one built in the Netherlands in a wonderfully typical color and apparently also in reasonable condition. However, the paint seems to have become a bit duller here and there and we spotted some color differences. The front bumper also looks a bit sad and according to the supplier there is ‘a small issue with the coolant’, whatever that means. In short, it is a car that needs an enthusiast who will dot the i’s and cross the i’s. Who reports?
