‘Välkommen123’, of course, was Volvo’s password, because the Swedish manufacturer was recently hacked. The thieves stole information from the development department. So if Chinese copies of Volvo models show up in six months, you’ll know what’s causing it…
Joking of course. It is now known who the hackers are. They have on it dark web released a list of the companies they attacked and Volvo is one of them. As proof, they have put the source code of a number of Volvo apps online. The hackers say they do not want money from Volvo. They want the company “to come up with an intelligent and comprehensive solution to the leak”. Otherwise, they will continue to leak pieces of confidential software.
According to Volvo, the cyber attack is worse than thought
Volvo has so far tried to downplay the hack, consistently speaking of a “potential cyberattack”. Now, however, the manufacturer has to admit that the attack is worse than thought and may “affect business operations”. According to Volvo, the digital thieves have only a limited amount research & development– get hold of data.
