Volvo is looking ahead to more electric cars

Volvo has a lot of news coming up in the near future. Not only will the ’40 series’ be expanded, but electrically powered larger models will also arrive in the coming years.

The fact that Volvo wants to be a fully electric brand by 2030 is of course related to a significant expansion of the electric range compared to what the brand has now. Today we expect news around the 40 series, probably the XC40 will get a fully electric brother next to it. In the photo above we probably see it in the top row on the far left. The fact that the car has already been ‘colored’ is probably the sign that attention is drawn to it first. It is still a bit difficult to see, but it seems that the car will at least have a slightly different roofline and rear than we know from the XC40.

In the middle row we probably see the 60 series. The far left in that case appears to be a model with a sloping roofline, possibly the ‘C60’, a somewhat more streamlined brother of the XC60. In the middle would then be the XC60, with the S60 next to it. All with an electric powertrain, for which Volvo is expected to use the SPA2 platform. Finally, the row below. The left of the two cars looks like the XC90, also on that SPA2 platform, but the type next to it is even more difficult to place. Because of the short nose and rectangular body, it almost looks like an MPV-like. Either way, exciting times for Volvo. Keep an eye on the site as we are following it closely.
