Volvo is expanding the price list of both the S60 and the XC60 with new mild hybrid versions, but there is also electrified news that does come with a plug.
Volvo does not currently have the clearest naming policy. For example, an engine version whose one starts with a ‘B’ can be either a gasoline or a diesel engine with a mild hybrid technology. The price list of the XC60 becomes a bit clearer and benefits just like the S60 from new versions.
XC60
The XC60 was available on gasoline level until recently as a 190 hp T4, as a 250 hp B5 (mildly hybrid), as a heavy T8 (plug-in). In addition, Volvo supplied a 190 hp D4 diesel and a 197 hp B4 diesel with mild hybrid technology on board. The last two diesel versions are definitively scrapped from the price list.
In addition, the T4 is replaced by the B4, a gasoline engine with a mild hybrid technology. This, in the basic 197 hp and 300 Nm strong four-cylinder, will temporarily have 14 hp and 40 Nm extra. In addition, the small battery pack, together with a starter generator, supports the gasoline engine wherever possible. A sprint from a standstill to a speed of 100 km / h is over in 8.1 counts. The top speed of all XC60s is now adjusted to 180 km / h. Volvo asks at least € 54,995 for the B4, an amount that applies to the Momentum version.
More XC60 news has to do with the arrival of a new plug-in hybrid flavor. In addition to the T8 and its more powerful Polestar Engineered version, the XC60 is now also available as a T6. This plug-in hybrid has a 253 horsepower and 350 Nm strong 2.0-liter four-cylinder that receives support from an 87 hp and 240 Nm strong electric motor that drives the rear wheels. The system power is 340 hp. The battery package is 11.6 kWh, good for an electric action radius of 51 to 54 kilometers. The starting price of the XC60 Recharge T6 is set at € 64,995.
S60
There is also news for the S60. For example, the regular T4 and T5 petrol versions are being replaced by B4 and B5 petrol engines with a mild hybrid technique. The 2.0 four-cylinder in the B4 delivers 197 hp and 300 Nm of torque in the base and receives support from a 14 hp and 40 Nm stronger electrical part. A sprint from a standstill to a speed of 100 km.h is over in 7.9 counts. Also with the S60, every variant is adjusted to a top speed of 180 km / h. The T5 is from now on a 250 hp and 350 Nm strong 2.0 four-cylinder that, thanks to mild hybrid technology, can also have 14 hp and 40 Nm extra. This taste rumbles in 6.7 beats to a speed of 100 km / h. Volvo asks for the B4 and B5 at least € 46,495 and € 49,995 respectively.
Volvo also extends the price list of the S60 at the bottom with a brand new B3, a petrol version that is also equipped with mild-hybrid hardware. This € 43,995 entry-level S60 is equipped with a 163 hp and 265 Nm strong 2.0 four-cylinder which, you guessed it, also has 14 hp and 40 Nm extra thanks to electrical assistance. A sprint from a standstill to a speed of 100 km / h takes exactly 9 seconds and the average consumption is set at 6.2-6.3 l / 100 km. More S60 news: from now on, all variants will no longer only be available as sporty R-Design, but also as a regular Inscription. The additional price for the R-Design version is € 1,000 for all versions.
