Volvo carries out a relatively subtle facelift on the S90 and V90. The external adjustments are not earth-shattering.
It is the end of 2015 when Volvo introduces the current S90 to the world, a sedan that will be joined by the V90 station brother V90 about a year later. This makes the cars this year respectively five and four years old and now Volvo considers the time is ripe for a facelift for both the sedan and the station.
The external changes are not very radical. Both the S90 and V90 receive new fog lamps and an adapted front bumper. The V90 and the V90 Cross Country get rear lights with a new light signature in which the vertical LED line now consists of two parts and is interrupted at the bottom of the unit. In addition, Volvo is now giving the V90 and V90 Cross Country dynamic direction indicators. The Swedes also make new paint colors and new light-alloy wheels available.
Volvo also makes an improved audio system from Bowers and Wilkins available and from now on provides an Advanced Air Cleaner, an extensive ventilation system that must be able to filter very small particles from the air. This system will also be available for the S60, V60 and XC60. The complete 60 and the full 90 series, including the XC90, will have two USB-C connections for the rear passengers. Volvo further says that the 90-series also has the mild-hybrid powertrains. The brand does not yet release information about this.
