Volvo V60 gets new engines

Volvo is electrifying its model range, a process that now affects the V60. The station wagon gets new mild hybrid versions and now has to do without diesel engines.

Volvo recently introduced an update on the XC60 and S60 and this time it is the V60 that benefits from a number of changes. The regular T4 and T5 petrol engines will be replaced by the B4 and B5 respectively. Indeed, gasoline engines with mild hybrid technology. The B3 is a 163 hp and 265 Nm strong 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a machine that thanks to electrical assistance will have an additional 14 hp and 40 Nm. A sprint from a standstill to 100 km / h takes 9.1 counts and the top speed is, as with all new Volvo cars, at 180 km / h. The average consumption has been set at 6.3-6.4 l / 100 km.

The B4 is of course one step above the B3 just mentioned. It is a basic 197 hp and 300 Nm strong version of the well-known 2.0 that – you guessed it – also receives support from a 14 hp and 40 Nm strong electrical part. This variant manages to sprint to 100 km / h in 8 seconds. Higher up the ladder is the B5, a naturally powerful 250 hp and 350 Nm 2.0 four-cylinder that, thanks to electrical assistance, will also have 14 hp and 40 Nm extra. This most powerful non-plug-in petrol version rumbles to a speed of 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds and, like the B3 and B4, consumes an average of 6.3-6.4 l / 100 km. The D3 and D4 diesel options are canceled, the T6 and T8 plug-in hybrids will continue to exist. The V60 Cross Country was until recently available as T5 and D4, but after the renewal round it is only available as a B5. All engines are linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.

The starting price of the V60 B3 is set at € 41,995 and amounts to € 47,995 for the R-Design version. The price list of the V60 B4 starts with the € 46,495 Business Pro version while the importer asks € 50,495 for the R-Design version. The B5 Business Pro costs at least € 49,995 and as R-Design changes from € 53,995 from owner. The T6 and T8 plug-ins are now € 1,000 cheaper and change owners from € 51,995 and € 54,995 respectively. Volvo is asking € 66,995 for the T8 Polestar Engineered. For the V60 Cross Country B5, only available in one variant, Volvo asks € 55,995. This version, the Cross Country Pro, comes as standard with leather upholstery, electrically adjustable and heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Other modifications to the V60 relate to the equipment. The V60 is now equipped with DAB + radio and Park Assist rear as standard.
