In a relatively short period of time, not only has the supply of electric passenger cars increased, but also that of electric commercial vehicles. Volvo’s Chinese parent company Geely appears to be responding to the rising demand for electric vans by bringing a range of electric commercial vehicles to Europe.

Anyone in the market for an electric commercial vehicle can now choose from an extensive range. The brands of Stellantis, Toyota and Renault, for example, all offer electric commercial vehicles. Volvo’s parent company Geely also seems to want to benefit from the growing demand for electric delivery vans in Europe. Geely has registered the design of three electric commercial vehicles in Europe with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), AutoWeek can report exclusively.

The patent plates of the three electric vans have been filed by Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicles Group, the commercial vehicle arm of Geely Holding Group. This part of Geely is next to the branches of Geely that manage car brands. Geely’s commercial vehicle division includes LEVC – known for the ‘London taxi’ TX and its commercial vehicle version VN5. It is not yet entirely clear under which brand the commercial vehicles on these patent drawings will be sold. We bet they will hit the market as Farizon.

We see three company cars that each have their own design, but still share a family face. The electric delivery vans all have a front where the lighting is housed in a horizontal part under the windscreen with a thickening in the design below. The three commercial vehicles are each of a different size. All three seem to fall into the ‘light commercial vehicle’ category, although the Geelys do vary in height and length. It is not yet clear when Geely will enter the European market with its electric commercial vehicles. But Geely has big plans for the European commercial vehicle market seems obvious.
