WaveOut is an app for iOS that helps you navigate to a destination.
Of course, navigation apps have been available for a long time, but WaveOut takes a different approach: before use, you put on headphones and you receive the navigation instructions via spatial sound (spatial audio† That means the sound comes from the direction you need to go when navigating.
By following the sound, you will eventually reach your destination. So in theory you don’t have to look at the screen anymore. This is relative, by the way: the app does not check the orientation of the head, but uses the image of the camera on the phone to see in which direction you are ‘looking’. You can build the route using the web version of WaveOut. After you have saved the route in your account, it will also be available via the app.
The route can be improved by the apps themselves, including route suggestions and tips for avoiding roadworks and other obstacles. For example, you can indicate that you prefer to avoid crowded places or large squares. You can also specify a date and time via the planning function, so that the app can take this into account.
