What does electric driving cost in general
In fact, you generally have the same costs with an electric car as with a car with a fuel engine. Purchase and depreciation, maintenance, insurance are fixed items that you always have. They vary per model. The purchase of an electric car is more expensive than that of the same petrol or diesel car, despite the fact that you do not have to pay BPM for an electric car until 2024. The batteries in particular are expensive to make. Maintenance and electricity are cheaper again. Because an electric car is heavier and more expensive, the insurance will also be more expensive.
If you have the option to charge at home, you can install a wallbox or charging station at home. Then you charge cheaper than at a public charging station, especially if you have solar panels. Otherwise you have to rely on a public charging station. You must also choose one (or more) charge card(s).
subsidy and tax
From the government there is a subsidy for new and used electric cars that you can use, but it is limited to a certain amount that the government pays out, so you have to be quick at the beginning of the year. You also have to take motor vehicle tax into account. You do not pay mrb for electric cars. This applies up to and including 2024. In 2025 you will receive a 75% discount on the mrb rate as a bridge. A year later, in 2026, you pay the full amount.

Business driving: electric car addition
We have already mentioned it, many people will be given the choice of choosing an electric car for business. Sometimes there are no combustion engine alternatives in the selection list! In that case, electric driving will cost you the addition for the car. In 2023, a 16% addition will be levied on the first 30,000 euros of the car. If the electric car is more expensive, the tax authorities charge 22% on the excess.
Private lease electric car
If you want an electric car but are afraid of the higher purchase price, private lease is attractive.
