The messaging app is rolling out a new feature to automatically delete sent and received messages in a new conversation.
Providing more control and better privacy to its users, this is how WhatsApp presents its new feature currently being rolled out to users.
The instant messaging application has just announced the imminent arrival on iOS and Android of a new option which, when activated, allows you to automatically delete all messages from a conversation beyond one certain duration. This new option is the extension of the ephemeral messages function, natively applied to all conversations opened in the application.
You can configure the application so that your messages are automatically deleted after 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days. Here’s how to activate it.
Also to discover in video:
1. Go to Settings
Open WhatsApp and enter the Settings of the app. Then go to the Account menu and access the Privacy menu. This is where WhatsApp has decided to integrate its new ephemeral messages option by default.

2. Activate native ephemeral messages
Find the section dedicated to Ephemeral messages and press the Delay before disappearance option.

Then select the length of time after which you want messages to be automatically deleted from new chats you create. You have the choice between 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days.
When opening a new conversation, WhatsApp should show you a notification that ephemeral messages have been enabled. This alert is also found in a box displayed at the top of the conversation.
