What is end-to-end encryption?
The link in the message you received leads users to the WhatsApp privacy page. This is probably due to the transfer wave to Signal, because end-to-end encryption is not a new function of WhatsApp and has been present for a while. A lot of people suspect that despite the end-to-end encryption WhatsApps parent company Meta still collects this information. Because of these suspicions, many people switch to Signal that privacy takes very seriously. With this message, WhatsApp wants to reassure and convince users to stay on WhatsApp.
