When you start a new conversation with someone on WhatsApp, the app requires you to save their contact information on your phone first. That is not always useful if you want to send an app quickly, but there is a good alternative solution.
Send WhatsApp to new contact
WhatsApp is a very popular messaging service that is used by the vast majority of Dutch people. When you contact someone for the first time, it often happens immediately via WhatsApp. You save the new phone number as a contact on your phone and then you will immediately find that person in WhatsApp.
That system is quite cumbersome if you want to quickly send an app to a new contact. On the other hand, there are also cases where the WhatsApp servers do not feel like it and then it suddenly takes a long time before a new contact can also be seen in WhatsApp. Don’t worry, because the solution is very simple and efficient.
Send an app without saving contact
Every WhatsApp user has a unique URL associated with their account. You can contact someone immediately by creating their own URL based on the telephone number of your contact person. This works via the browser and it can be done on both your phone and PC, as long as your WhatsApp account is active on the device.
In the address bar of your browser, type: ‘wa.me/’. Then you type the two digits of the country code behind it, that is ‘31′ for the Netherlands, but omit the plus sign of the country code. Then type the rest of the phone number and press enter. So the url of a Dutch contact person looks something like this: ‘wa.me/31413040055′. Finally, all you have to do is press the green button ‘Continue to chat’ to start a conversation right away in the app.
