If you are looking for a car where you want to take some teammates from the sports club in addition to your own children, what should you pay attention to? We find out: in which car will four children fit?
An outing with the family, with the children and cousins to the swimming pool or you are designated to take team members with you to an away game: you soon have several children in the car. But which car will fit four children? If we assume four children, then several options are possible.
Above 12 years: practically every car with a back seat
If the children are over 12 years old, then practically any car with a rear seat is suitable. After all: most rear seats fit three adults, so at least three children. And one child can sit in the front. You can then of course most convertibles, sports cars off the list. And with really small city cars like the Citroën C1, Kia Picanto, Hyunday i10, Peugeot 108, Toyota Aygo, Fiat 500, it will be difficult to fit three children in the back seat. But here too the following applies: take the time to orient yourself, then you will certainly find the car that suits you well!
Shorter than 1.35m: four children in two back seats
If the children are shorter than 1.35 meters they need a booster seat. In addition, they are usually also under 12 years old, so they are not allowed to sit in the front. That booster seat takes up more space next to the width of the child. If you want to take four children with you, you quickly need two back seats and you are talking about a car with 6 to 7 seats. The range of these can be found in the AutoWeek CarBase comparator. We also give advice in an article about new cars with seven seats, used cars with that space and electric cars in which you can take at least 5 people in addition to the driver. In between are also cheaper cars such as the Dacia Logan. So you are not immediately condemned to extremely expensive cars.
The disadvantage if you take four children with you and one (or more) of those children is a baby or toddler, then you should see if you can (also) take a pram or buggy in the car! After all, many 6- or 7-seat cars have a small boot if you want to use all the seats.
