Hello,
We encountered this insect on the ceiling today and we have really never seen this before. At first we thought it was a kind of tick, but after some research on the internet we found out that it is a spider after all, given the 8 legs. Is this a copy that is not very common? We were really amazed by the enormously long legs in relation to the body. I came upon this site and thought I’d take a picture and ask you guys.

Answer
Dear Sjoerd,
this is a harvestman (Opiliones). This is indeed an arachnid like a scorpion or a mite are arachnids but not spiders. Typically, the body consists of one part. At spins there are two.

Rudy
