If the Neta to Europe?

Electric cars are now available in almost all segments and in various forms. Once the electric MG Cyberster is available, we will even have an electric roadster on the Dutch market. Electric coupés currently only exist in the absolute top class, but this electric coupé from the Chinese Hozon Auto may soon change that in Europe as well.
Wait a second. Hozon Car? Of course. In Europe you probably don’t know that Chinese manufacturer of only electric cars, but it is just as active in the home country. In 2018, it launched its first electric production model on the Chinese market with the Neta N01 and now sells the Neta U, Neta V, Neta S and Neta GT. The first three are successively a compact crossover, a mid-sized crossover and a mid-sized sedan. The Neta GT is the most special of the bunch. After all, that is a fully electric GT that we wrote about twice before. Why are we drumming up the Neta GT again? Well: it could just be that the car will come to Europe.

From left to right: the Neta U, the Neta S, the Neta GT and the Neta V.
The Neta GT is a 4.72 meter long and almost 2 meter wide electric coupe that is considerably larger than the current Alpine A110 and comes closer in size to cars such as the C-class Coupé from Mercedes-Benz. The GT – which was initially going to be called Neta E – is currently only available in China, but that may change quite quickly.

European exploration and present during IAA
Hozon Auto previously indicated that it would have plans to start selling its electric sedan – the Neta S – in Europe. AutoWeek has found the patent drawings of the Neta GT in the database of the Norwegian patent office (photos 19 to 25). This does not necessarily mean that the model will be marketed in Europe/Norway, but it does indicate that something is bubbling behind the scenes. In EV terms, the Dutch car market, just like Norway’s, is an important one for car manufacturers, or interesting to say the least. If the Neta GT actually comes to Norway, it is not inconceivable that the electric coupe will also cross the Dutch borders later.

Hozon Auto is working on a considerable expansion. Initially it only sold its products in China, but the brand is now also active in Thailand, Malaysia, Jordan and Israel. Hozon Auto says it is currently exploring the European market. This includes a trip to the IAA, which will take place in Munich in September. There’s the brand of the lot.

The Hozon Neta GT is available with a 231 hp electric motor on the rear axle and is also available in China as a four-wheel drive with two electric motors of 462 together. The most powerful version reaches 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds. Its range has been determined at 660 kilometers according to the not very accurate CLTC method. The Neta GT is packed with passive and active driver assistance systems and must also be able to find its way through traffic semi-autonomously. The car has frameless doors, a cW value of 0.21 and an interior that includes not only sports seats and a 12-speaker audio system, but also a 17-inch infotainment screen that even includes a karaoke app. There is also a gigantic panoramic glass roof. The trunk fits 297 liters of stuff, in the frank you can store another 50 liters extra.
Would you be up for a Neta GT? Or do you see no chance at all for such a model on the Dutch market?
