Have you always wanted a special classic and are you also a fan of Sylvester Stallone? Then this bright red Ford Mustang that is going under the hammer might be perfect for you! It once belonged to the man who, with a sigh and a moan, shoots everything upside down or beats to a pulp whatever comes his way.

A special Ford Mustang is going under the hammer on auction site Catawiki. It is a bright red Mustang V8 from 1965 that is for sale in Germany, but for which you have to roll up your sleeves to get it registered.

The red Ford Mustang V8 is almost 60 years old, has 168,270 kilometers on the counter and, judging by the photos, it still looks great. What about the 200 horsepower pony car make it extra special? It was once owned by none other than actor Sylvester Stallone. Of course you know Stallone mainly as boxing machine Rocky Balboa and as almost infallible bullet sponge John Rambo, but the 77-year-old actor is also a car enthusiast. Sylvester Stallone bought this red Mustang on November 25, 1989. And not just like that. The ‘Stang is one of the three cars that shined on the big screen in the film Lock Up, in which Stallone starred with Donald Sutherland, among others.

According to the information on Catawiki, the original registration certificate is present, as well as a purchase confirmation signed by Stallone. Once – when is not exactly known – the Mustang was restored and according to the available information, the American classic is ‘ready to hit the road’. However, you still have to get the car – which is located in Chemnitz, Germany – on a Dutch license plate. There is a dent near the fuel filler flap in the center of the bottom of the ‘Stang and the fuel gauge does not work, but that does not seem to us to be insurmountable.

Before the current owner took possession of the Mustang, the car was part of an exhibition in Munich for more than thirty years. Catawiki gives an expected yield of €65,000 to €75,000. The highest bid is just under 58 grand at the time of writing. That is still below the – incidentally not specified – minimum price. The auction closes Saturday at 21:01. Does this Mustang have your name on it? Don’t forget to make an offer before then.
