Change Windows 10 settings to display the day of the week and full date in the taskbar.
By default, Windows 10 just displays a date in its simplest form on the taskbar.
However, if the format dd / mm / yyyy (day / month / year) does not suit you, it is quite possible to modify certain parameters of the operating system so that it displays a complete date including the day of. the week, day, month and year. Here’s how to do it.
1. Open the old control panel
Start by opening the old control panel. It is within the latter that you can modify the architecture of the date displayed in the taskbar of Windows 10. To open the old control panel, click on the Start menu and enter Control Panel directly. Then click on it to open it.

2. Access the clock settings
From the main Windows Control Panel window, click on the Clock and Region menu.

In the next window, click on the Region section.

A new window will appear. This time click on Additional Settings.

3. Change the date format
A Customize Format window should open. To configure the date, Windows uses the letters j, m, and a, which each refer to the day, month, and year. But to differentiate the date format, Microsoft uses a specific syntax:
- d or dd: displays the number of the day,
- ddd: displays the name of the shortened day
- dddd: displays the full name of the day
- M or MM: displays the number of the month
- MMM: displays the name of the shortened month
- MMMM: displays the name of the full month
- a or aa: display the decade
- yyy or yyyy: displays the full year

Go to the Date tab, then to the Short date: line, replace the format indicated by default (dd / MM / yyyy) by dddd d MMMM yyyy and click on Apply then on OK to validate your modifications.

The date displayed in the taskbar should automatically change to display, for example, Friday October 9, 2020, instead of 10/09/2020.
