Windows 11 and uninstall programs: this is how you do it

Keeping your Windows 11 computer clean doesn’t have to be a daunting task. But it is wise to spend some time on this. In any case, regularly uninstalling Windows 11 programs that you don’t need is something that can help keep your computer nice and fast and free up space.

You can remove Windows 11 programs directly from the Start menu. Click the Windows icon on the start bar to open the menu. At the top of the menu, you’ll see a list of pinned applications you’ve already installed. If you want to remove one of these apps, right click on it. The option to delete will then appear in the context menu. Click on that and wait for a while for the process to complete. This only takes a few seconds.

And what if you want to remove an app or program that is not in the list of pinned apps? No problem. Above that list is a button with which you display all apps. You will find that button at the top right. Click on it and before you know it you will see all the programs installed on your Windows 11 computer.

Now we proceed in the same way again. Select the app or program that needs to be removed and choose the button again remove in the context menu. That option is at the very bottom.

When you select the option, a pop-up will appear. Windows 11 will then ask if you are sure you want to remove this program. You will be notified that you will lose all data associated with this program. If that’s not a problem for you, click on delete.

Via the Settings app

Programs can also be removed via the Settings app. First, open the search menu (next to the Windows button on the Start bar), then type “apps.” Now a search result for apps and functions will appear. Click that to land you in the Settings app of Windows 11.

Find the application you want to remove and click on the three dots on the right (these are the menu options). This is where you will find the delete button. You will now be asked again whether you are sure you want to remove this app. You will lose all data if you do that.

Since we’re deliberately removing the app, that shouldn’t be a problem!
