Microsoft has just started deploying Windows 11. Find out how to install it right away if you have a compatible machine.
That’s it. After a little over three months of testing, the stable version of Windows 11 is officially available. Microsoft opened the floodgates a little in advance since the new OS which was to be released this Tuesday, October 5 was downloadable from last night. Be careful, however, to install the new version of the Microsoft operating system, your computer must comply with very precise specifications.
To make sure your machine is eligible, you can always use PC Health Check, the official tool offered by Microsoft to check if your computer’s hardware configuration meets all the criteria.
Once this formality is settled, you should be able to think about how to proceed to update your computer to Windows 11, completely free if you have a valid license of Windows 10. Microsoft is planning a gradual rollout as usual, carried out in waves directly from Windows Update, starting with the most recent computers, those whose configuration is not likely to pose a problem with its new OS. But there are indeed several ways to get this update. Here is the list, depending on your machine.
Also to discover in video:
1. Via Windows Update
If you have a recent PC that is fully compatible with Windows 11 and has been chosen by Microsoft to be part of the first wave of updates, it should be offered to you directly in Windows Update as an update. optional. You will then just have to click on Download and Install to start the migration of your PC under Windows 10 to Windows 11.

However, it may be that your computer, although perfectly compatible, is not one of the machines preferred by Microsoft for the installation of Windows 11 in the first wave. In this case, Windows Update will not offer the update, but will just display a sign that says This PC can run Windows 11.

You will therefore have to wait for Microsoft to officially deploy the update for your configuration. If you don’t want to wait, you can use one of the options below to manually force the installation of Windows 11.
2. Using the update wizard
To force the installation of Windows 11 on your PC, it is possible to go through the Windows 11 installation wizard, a small utility offered by Microsoft to start the download and installation of its new operating system without have to wait for deployment in Windows Update.
Once the Windows 11 installation wizard has downloaded to your machine, run it, then in the window that appears, click Accept and install and follow the instructions displayed. Windows 11 will then be downloaded and automatically installed on your PC which will restart several times during the process.

3. By launching the installation from the disk image
Another possibility to manually launch the installation of Windows 11 on your machine under Windows 10, directly download the ISO disk image of Windows 11 from the Microsoft site.
Once the Windows 11 ISO format file has been retrieved on your computer, all you have to do is mount it in the workstation, double-click to explore its content, then open the Setup file to start the installation of the new OS on your machine.

A Windows 11 installation wizard starts. Click Next and follow the instructions displayed to complete the installation of the OS on your computer.

4. By doing a “clean” installation
Last possible solution, proceed with a “clean” installation of Windows 11 on your PC, by creating a bootable USB key from Microsoft’s Windows 11 Media Creation Tool.
Once retrieved on your PC, run the utility, and click Accept.

Then select the language of the OS, the version of Windows 11 to recover and click Next.

You will then be offered to create a USB flash memory disc or download the ISO file to burn it later on to a DVD.
Go for the first option, insert a USB stick of at least 8 GB in your PC and click on the Next button.

Then select the USB stick and click on the Next button.

Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool then starts downloading Windows 11 and writes the image to your USB drive to make it a bootable installation device.

Once the procedure is complete, the utility will indicate that Your USB flash memory drive is ready. Then click on Finish.

Now that your bootable Windows 11 installer USB drive is ready, insert it into your PC and boot on it to start installing Windows 11.
