It’s time for Battle Royale on your iPhone. With Fortnite you jump out of a flying bus with 99 other players and you have to survive while the playing space keeps getting smaller. On the island you will encounter all kinds of weapons and items, it is possible to build houses and you will be shot from all sides. Do you not quite understand what is happening? Don’t worry, because with these tips you will be fine.
1. Choose the right place to land
If you jump out of the Battle Bus, you can float quite a bit. Use that space to find a spot where few other players drop. That usually means trying to get as far from the bus as possible and not opting for the big venues. This way you have the space to quietly collect and possibly build items.
The disadvantage of dropping as far as possible is that other players have an advantage. They have reached the ground earlier and have had more time to collect good weapons and build a fort.
Do you die every time you hit other players? Then it is smart to choose a large location close to the bus for a few pots. This way you bump into others very quickly and you can practice making kills.
2. Gather materials and build
An important part of Fortnite is building. Before you can build, you must first collect resources such as wood and metal. You do this by demolishing things in your area with your pickaxe.
Then press the build button to quickly place some walls, roofs and so on. For example to build a fort where you will hide. You can also use this feature to protect yourself when bullets are flying around your ears. As if you were placing a wooden shield. Also, build stairs to get to places you can’t reach otherwise, and climb higher than the rest for a tactical advantage.
Don’t forget that you can use the pickaxe to reach places that you would not otherwise reach by demolishing walls.
3. Watch the storm
The blue circle around the playing field is a storm that is getting smaller and smaller. You don’t want to end up in that, because then you’re so dead. Therefore, always make sure that you keep an eye on your position in relation to the storm via the map, so that you are always on time in the white circle.
A smart strategy is to constantly stay on the edge of the circle, so that you are not attacked from all sides, but you can of course also choose to stay in the middle to wait for your opponents there.
4. Makes as little noise as possible
With Fortnite on iOS, every player can see very clearly where sound is coming from. That’s why it’s more important than ever to make as little noise as possible when you’re around other players. That means you should squat or walk instead of running and not just chop with your pickaxe.
It also helps to remain invisible. So walk as little as possible through open spaces, but hide behind trees and other objects.
5. Don’t shoot everyone
Do you see another player? Then don’t run straight to shoot, because it is usually smarter to avoid that player. While that other player may have a cool loot, any confrontation is a big risk. Your goal is not to get as many kills as possible, but to survive and be the last one to survive. If you keep facing confrontation, there is a good chance that things will go wrong.
Have you ever shot anyone? Then don’t run directly to the loot. First, take a good look around you to see if there are any other players. You are very vulnerable during looting.
6. Use all items
In the world of Fortnite you come across all kinds of items: make use of them. First of all, choose the right weapon for the right time. A shotgun, for example, is nice for close-up, but you can’t do much if an enemy attacks you from a distance. In addition, drink shield drinks immediately after picking up, use medical items if you are injured, and put down traps.
Also pay attention to the color of the weapons. You only have limited space in your inventory. Gray weapons are not that special, green weapons are a bit rarer, blue weapons are rare, purple weapons are epic, and orange weapons are legendary. So pay attention to both the type and color of the weapon in your arsenal so that you are prepared for any situation.
