IOS app Workflow has received its first update after the acquisition by Apple. Tasks for Apple Music have been added, among other things.
New Workflow Tasks
The app, with which tasks automate certain actions according to the ‘If This Than That’ principle, is ready for version 1.7.4. Just after the takeover, some integrations with Google Chrome and later read-service Pocket disappeared. They have returned in the most recent version. People using Workflow can choose to open certain actions in Google’s browser and save articles to Pocket.
After the previous update of Workflow, the actions suddenly disappeared. They have been fixed for Chrome and Pocket, but other integrations are still missing. For example, tasks for Google Street View, Telegram and Uber are still not available in the app. If you want to use a navigation app with Workflow, then you have to rely on Apple’s own Maps app, which is supported.

New tasks for Apple Music
Convenient functions have been added for Apple Music subscribers. From now on it is possible to have a certain song play next within a playlist via Workflow. A Workflow was already available for Apple Music. The Open in Apple Music task opens songs or albums from the iTunes Store directly in Apple’s music service.
Apple acquired Workflow at the end of March. The iOS app is popular because it can enable a series of tasks with the push of a button. Think of converting a Safari page to PDF or creating directions to the nearest restaurant.
Planning with Workflow
It is not known what Apple’s plans for Workflow are. For now, the app will continue to exist separately, but Workflow may be integrated within iOS in the future. If so, we’ll hear more about it at WWDC developer conference in June.
