STEP 1 REVIEW APPS

STEP 1
RATING APPS

The first step you can take is to review the apps that are on your phone. There are probably dozens of apps that you rarely or never use, while they do consume energy and data. Go to Settings, Network and Internet, Mobile data and apps*. There is an overview of apps that have recently consumed data. Not using the apps? Then delete them! The apps remain active in the background. Not only will they use less data, but this will also improve the performance of your smartphone.

*We used a Motorola smartphone for this article. Other Android brands have the same options, but the route through the menus will be slightly different.

STEP 2 DELETE APPS

STEP 2
REMOVE APPS
How do you remove apps that you don’t use, but that are still consuming data?
You do this by holding your finger on an app until the background changes and you can drag the app. At the top comes twice now remove to stand. The left version simply removes the app from the home screen, the right version actually removes the app from your smartphone.
You can also delete it via the Google Play Store. Tap there on the icon of your account, go to apps and manage device and To manage and check the apps you want removed.

STEP 3 RESTRICT DATA

STEP 3
RESTRICT DATES
It is quite easy to have your smartphone limit the data used.
Go to Settings, Network and Internet, data usage and Data Saver. Check this one.
From that moment on, apps are no longer updated when you put the smartphone on stand-by have standing.

STEP 4 DESIGNATE EXCEPTIONS

DESIGNATE EXCEPTIONS
You may want to have some apps updated, such as WhatsApp or your mail app when you are waiting for a package, for example.
You can indicate these exceptions in the list of apps that you can find under the function Data Saver sees standing. The apps that you activate there are given rights to unlimited data usage, also on the mobile network.
This way you can still stay informed of the most important apps, while you are on the road.
