It will be the first time that the Toyota GR 86 will demonstrate its handling and agility to the public. Developed by Toyota GAZOO Racing, the sports coupe is the third GR model to be launched worldwide after the GR Supra and GR Yaris.

The new Toyota GR 86 will see action this summer at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to be held from 8-11 July 2021 at the Goodwood House site in West Sussex, England.

Unveiled in April this year, the Toyota GR 86 remains true to the core values that have made its predecessor GT86 a success. An accessible and easy-to-drive sports coupé that treats its driver to pure driving pleasure.

The Toyota GR 86 has a classic sports car setup with the front engine and rear wheel drive. This boxer engine has a displacement of 2.4 liters (was 2.0 liters) and is more powerful than before.

The Toyota GR 86’s dimensions are almost identical to its predecessor, but a 50 percent increase in torsional rigidity provides even sharper handling and steering. During development, the focus was on weight saving. This has led to the use of aluminum for the roof and certain body parts. This makes the Toyota GR 86 the lightest 4-seater coupé in its class (provisional curb weight: 1,270 kg).

More details about the GR 86 will be announced by Toyota in the run-up to the European market launch, the exact moment of which will be announced at a later stage.
