In the wake of the SU7

Xiaomi has managed to gain quite a bit of attention with its first car, the SU7. The company that we mainly know for smartphones is apparently looking forward to more, because two more models are expected to follow in the short term.
While tech giant Apple is putting its plans for its own electric car on hold, its Chinese counterpart Xiaomi is embarking on the EV adventure. In January it presented the Xiaomi SU7; an unmistakably somewhat Porsche Taycan-inspired EV, which has been marketed quite competitively. The ambitions of the Chinese go much further. Last year Xiaomi said that it wants to become one of the world’s largest EV builders and of course that cannot happen by only offering one model. The Chinese medium KR36 has learned what the plans are for the near future, as we discover via CnEVpost.
Xiaomi is said to be planning to present its second model in the first half of next year. That will be – how could it be otherwise – an electric SUV. Rest assured that it will be a direct higher brother of the SU7. Did someone say Porsche Macan? Perhaps more interesting is the car that is said to be released a year later. Calls for that KR36 a Chinese target price of approximately €19,000. This would make it almost €10,000 cheaper than the SU7. More concrete information is not yet known about this cheaper model from Xiaomi. It is also still unclear whether Xiaomi will also sell its cars here, but you can assume that sooner or later that will happen. We will of course keep an eye on it.
