Xpeng delivers cargo of G3s in Norway

Chinese manufacturer Xpeng has plans to sink its teeth into the European car market, but sets foot in Norway first. Norway is a testing ground for the Chinese brand whose name most closely resembles the sound that a wrongly tuned guitar string makes.

Xpeng proudly reports that it has delivered a new fleet of no less than 200 units of the G3 in Norway. Those 200 units are added to the 100 units that the brand previously delivered in Norway. That was the first series of G3s destined for Norway, cars that Xpeng said sold out quickly.

Xpeng is under no illusions and indicates that the Chinese home market remains the brand’s main sales market. Xpeng reported earlier that it is actively hunting other European markets to sell its wares. The Dutch car market, like Norway’s, is a very important one for the sale of electric cars. Last year, 76,803 new EVs were sold in Norway, in the Netherlands that number was 73,204 according to figures from ACEA. Although more EVs have been sold in absolute numbers in Germany (193,474) and France (111,127), the Dutch EV market is relatively large. Don’t be surprised if Xpeng also visits the Netherlands in the long term, although we have not yet confirmed this at the manufacturer.

More and more Chinese manufacturers are considering a European market introduction. Aiways is busy with the U5, Maxus sells Chinese commercial vehicles and then you also have the Polestar-related Lynk & Co, which has the desire to get a substantial part of the European electric car pie on its plate. The list continues with Seres that is already available in the Netherlands, although that brand is by Green Mobility Group Europe in our country. The list of Chinese newcomers continues with BYD, Nio, Byton and Hongqi. Incidentally, we have already driven the first meters with an Xpeng G3, you can read more about that here.
