On the outside, the differences compared to the standard Tracer 9 GT are quite small, only the large radar in the nose betrays that you are eye to eye with the GT+ version, with which Yamaha is now following Ducati, BMW and Kawasaki for the first time. adaptive cruise control applied.

The ACC keeps the distance from your predecessor constant, initially braking on the engine and only using the Unified Braking System UBS when it is really necessary. According to Yamaha, the ACC also adjusts suspension to optimize rider and passenger comfort, thanks to electronically controlled semi-active suspension called KADS (KYB Actimatic Damper System).

The adaptive cruise control can be used from 30 km/h to 160 km/h – in 1st and 2nd gear from 30 km/h, in 3rd and 4th gear from 40 km/h and in 5th and 6th gear from 50 km/h you. The speed can be adjusted in 1 or 10 km/h increments, depending on how long the handlebar switch is pressed.

In addition, the ACC has a cornering assist function to prevent the engine from accelerating suddenly in the middle of a bend, and an overtaking assistant that allows smoother acceleration when the system detects that the engine is overtaking. Finally, the ACC is also linked to Yamaha’s third-generation quickshifter, which allows you to shift up and down without deactivating the ACC.

Also completely new is the 7″ TFT color display with Bluetooth connectivity, which can be adjusted in no time in a Garmin navigation. Installation of the Garmin navigation is child’s play according to Yamaha: pair your smartphone via the MyRide app, then download the Garmin Motorize app and the navigation can then be opened via the TFT.

It will take a while before the Tracer 9 GT+ is available, the top model of the Tracer family will only be available for viewing at the Yamaha dealer from May next year.
