The third major game in the Life is Strange series is a fact. True Colors is now out on Google Stadia, among others, and it is the first time that a game of the series does not appear in parts, but in one go. That non-episodic is a challenge for fans of the series, because you now have less time to think about the game in between.
And there is certainly a lot to think about. Alex Chen has long suppressed her “curse,” which is her ability to absorb and manipulate the strong emotions of others. When her brother dies in an alleged accident, Alex must embrace this psychic power of empathy to uncover the truth.
Life is Strange: True Colors
She sees emotions as burning, colored auras and can use them to change lives. Make tough decisions and choose your own future, just as it always does in Life is Strange. In doing so, roam freely through the streets, shops and hidden spaces of Haven Springs. Build trust with the townspeople and embrace friendship or romance with Ryan and Steph.
Our colleagues from IGN Benelux are raving about the title and call it the best part of the series: “Life is Strange: True Colors is the best part of the series in my opinion. This time I felt like my choices really mattered. In addition, Deck Nine Games perfectly captures the atmosphere of a small mountain village and the story really grabbed me.”
Mystery
“The lives of the inhabitants were interesting enough to learn more about, the mystery is well constructed and the combination of voice acting, facial expressions and posture made me empathize with Alex and the other characters, which is something so incredibly important in a story driven game like this. Deck Nine Games has taken Life is Strange to new heights and this promises a bright future for the series.”
Deck Nine also previously worked on Life is Strange, namely on Before The Storm. Prepare to be thrown at all kinds of ethical issues again, including the necessary political charge. Life is Strange: True Colors is out on PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X and Stadia.
