Sporty bangers and interesting newcomers

You can read this in AutoWeek 12

AutoWeek 12 will be in stores from Wednesday or will be on your doorstep at the end of this week. This week we have quite a bit of sporting power for you, both with fat fuel engines and with an electric powertrain. We are also going on the road with the promising Citroën C5 X.

We’ll tell you later what kind of sporty stuff you can expect this week. First we pay attention to the two that you have already seen in the photo above; the Lexus NX and Range Rover Evoque. With the new NX, Lexus has added a plug-in hybrid powertrain that is so important for our country to the medium-sized SUV and lifted the car as a whole to a higher level. In a double test we find out whether it is good enough to surpass the chic Evoque with plug.

Skoda Enyaq Coupe RS iV

The first sporting pleasure comes in the form of the Skoda Enyaq Coupé RS. As a ‘coupé’, the Enyaq does not only look sportier, that is-ie as an RS, of course. We already know the recipe of the Volkswagen ID5, now we find out how it comes into its own with its Czech cousin.

More interested in ‘old-fashioned’ violence? Then you will also enjoy yourself with AutoWeek 12. We were able to hit the road with the most recent addition to the range of the Audi R8. Audi has (again) removed the four-wheel drive from the R8 and at the same time increased the power by 30 hp compared to the previous rear-wheel drive variant. We were able to drive a bit on the track with the R8 V10 Performance RWD Coupé.

Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS

If you thought we’d had it with that, you’re wrong. Roy drove the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS. The naturally aspirated petrol engine is slowly but surely approaching its end. Porsche feels that end is coming and went wild on the Cayman while it was still possible. The result is this overwhelming GT4 RS, which is extremely impressive.

Of a much more modest but at least as interesting order is the Subaru Solterra. The Subaru brother of the all-electric Toyota bZ4X. With Subaru you think of three things: four-wheel drive, boxer engines and pulling things. After all, the stubborn Japanese brand is strong in this, literally and figuratively. Only with the new Solterra two of those three things are absent. So it’s high time for an introduction to this Subaru of the new stamp.

Citroen C5 X

You may have already seen the video, but we could also go on the road with the brand new Citroën C5 X. Citroën has got the taste of being crazy again. With the C5 X, the brand has continued the fusion of different bodies to an extreme. In the meantime, it does offer French comforts from a bygone era.

As you are used to from AutoWeek, there is again plenty of attention for used cars. For example, we hold a Mini Coupé up to the light and tell you everything about what to look out for if you are considering a used Mazda CX-5. It is of course also time for a Klokje Rond inspection. This week it stars a Ford S-Max that came to its current owner as a brand new lease car, but has been with him for 15 years now. Time has certainly not stood still: 321,000 kilometers have already passed under the wheels. Let’s see if it’s still a top combination.

Ford S-Max Clock Round

Finally, we have a French youngtimer as our guest in Op de Rollenbank: a real Renault Mégane Coupé of the first generation. A bit of a car that has disappeared from the streets unnoticed. However, it is such a distinctive car that we would like to rescue it from obscurity. Bring on that thing!

All that and more can be read in the latest AutoWeek. It will be in stores from Wednesday this week. Would you rather not go out? Order from the comfort of your home the latest number. Then it will be delivered to your doorstep within two working days.
