You can buy AutoWeek 29 from Wednesday in the store or expect it in your mailbox this week. In this issue we pay full attention to convertibles in all shapes and sizes. Great for these hot days. From a Mercedes-AMG SL to a Fiat Barchetta, from a Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet to a Mazda MX-5.
On the hottest day of the year, we are already serving you a whole series of convertibles that you will find this week in AutoWeek. We kick off spectacularly with a double test between the brand new Mercedes-AMG SL 63 and Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet. The new Mercedes-AMG SL has a threefold mission. Due to the disappearance of the AMG GT Roadster and S-class Cabriolet and the succession of the previous SL, he should once again become the absolute convertible king of Mercedes-Benz. But is it also up to the 911?

In another test you will find a German convertible, but of a completely different order than the SL and 911. With the T-Roc Cabriolet, Volkswagen has an extremely unique offer in convertible land. The only option if you’re looking for a new full-fledged four-seat convertible for less than €50,000. The fact that the T-Roc is a relatively affordable convertible is just as remarkable as the fact that it is a raised convertible.
In an extensive report we discuss the history of one of the most popular convertibles ever: the Mazda MX-5. We went out with all four generations, including a real exotic.

The MX-5 is once again discussed in this issue, in an occasion double test with the Fiat Barchetta. With a relatively modest budget you can already look for a nice used one. Are you going for Italian flair or Japanese perfection?
Of course there are not only open cars to be found in AutoWeek 29. For example, we also have a very important comparison test between the Opel Astra and Ford Focus. Does the German with French genes know how to keep up with a fixed value like the Focus? In any case, the Opel already has its age.

Cabriolets don’t shine very often in Klokje Rond, but in this issue we have one as a guest on the bridge at Carrec Technocenter. The Porsche Boxster is high on the wish list of many car enthusiasts. That is not surprising because it is affordable. They are for sale for less than ten grand. A year and a half ago, Ellen Nijland took the gamble and parked one in front of her door for €8,000. There is now more than 3 tons on the counter and then it might be a bit too exciting.
AutoWeek 29 will be in stores this week from Wednesday. Would you rather not go out? Order from the comfort of your home the latest number. Then it will be delivered to your doorstep within two working days.
