You can read this in AutoWeek 48

AutoWeek 48 will be in stores from tomorrow or will fall on your doormat this week. This week you will find, among other things, a very interesting test between three high-profile electric cars in the ‘new middle class’, but also, for example, a test between two sober used cars. For those who may be a little older: we also have a nice story about a Peugeot 205 CTI and put the old Volkswagen Golf VR6 Variant next to the new Golf R Variant.

As mentioned, a trio is coming together that is currently causing quite a stir in the middle class. The all-new Kia EV6 is ready to take on two other high-profile EVs: the Polestar 2 and Skoda Enyaq. They each go their own way and Roy Kleijwegt points out where the differences are.

Ferrari 812 Competizione

If you don’t know much about electric driving, you can indulge in a driving test with the Ferrari 812 Competizione. Not the fastest Ferrari of the moment, but without a doubt the most brutal. With a naturally aspirated V12 that sends 830 pure horsepower to the rear wheels, it might even be the most spectacular ever. We’ll give him the tracks on the Fiorano circuit.

A car that is less rare than the 812 Competizione, but which you do not see on every street corner, is the Ford Ranger. As you may have already seen, it will soon be replaced by a completely new generation. Before that, Ford will be waving his pick-up out with no fewer than four special editions. We drove them all.

Nio ES8

In the meantime, the Chinese Nio is speeding up its European advance. The fully electric ES8 should make it happen for Nio. A car that not only takes you silently from A to B, but also offers you company during the journey. For a moment it seems as if Furby is back, although the ES8 does not have a talking owl on the dashboard but another special ‘creature’. Frank Jacobs will update you.

Nissan Note vs. Opel Corsa

For those who do not need talking poultry or something similar and would rather just put a sober and affordable occasion in front of the door, we serve the above two. The Nissan Note and Opel Corsa have a rather different character, not least because of their size, and because of their similar age and price, they are nevertheless interesting to compare.

We go even further back in time for a report in which the Volkswagen Golf VR6 Variant appears on the scene. The most potent version of the Golf III Variant is of course the ancestor of the Golf R Variant unveiled this year and we would like to see if that delicious V6 can still put the four-cylinder engine of the Golf R in the shade.

Peugeot 205 CTIA

Perhaps even more fun is this Peugeot 205 CTI, which has a very special story. His owner restored it with family and thoroughly modified the drivetrain. That may seem like sacrilege, but there’s a very good reason for it. Don’t miss this special story!

Finally, we also have the trusted Klokje Rond inspection, this week with a Subaru Forester. Well, they can often get decent mileage, but Joep Schuurman still manages to find some problems.

Subaru Forester Clock Round

All that and more can be read in the latest AutoWeek. It will be in stores from Wednesday this week. Would you rather not go out? Order from the comfort of your home the latest number. Then it will be delivered to your doorstep within two working days.
