The Vision Pro will appear in stores at the beginning of February, but how much storage space do you get as standard with the headset? This is what we know so far.
Vision Pro available soon
Apple finally announced this week when the Vision Pro will appear in stores. On Friday February 2, 2024 the company’s first spatial computer appears in American stores. You get 256 GB of storage space as standard with the Vision Pro. Apple is only releasing the headset in the United States for the time being, it is not yet known when the headset will also come to other countries.

That is not the only thing that is unclear, because Apple has not yet announced how much storage space you can choose from with the Vision Pro. It is clear that you get at least 256 GB with the headset, but we don’t know more than that (yet). Apple has also not announced anything about the working memory. Yet new rumors already reveal a little more about the memory capacity of the spatial computer.
The Vision Pro has that much storage space
An update in Xcode has revealed that the Vision Pro has 16 GB of RAM. The new version of Xcode offers support for apps intended for the Vision Pro. This means that developers can now submit their apps to Apple before they are added to the App Store in visionOS. This gives us a little more information about the storage space of the Vision Pro.
So the headset has 16 GB of RAM, but what about the storage? According to previous rumors, the Vision Pro comes with a choice of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB of storage space. For $3,499, the starting price of the headset, you get 256 GB as standard. Do you want to buy more storage space? Then the price of the Vision Pro will rise accordingly. It is not known how much money you will lose.
Much is unknown about visionOS
How much storage space the average user needs with the Vision Pro depends on the new operating system. Apple has developed visionOS specifically for the headset. So it is a completely new operating system, and it is still unclear how much storage space apps need. If the emphasis is on streaming videos, 256 GB is more than enough.

This will probably not be the case for most users, so there is a good chance that you will need more than 256 GB. This means you have to choose a Vision Pro with more storage space and you will spend even more money. Do you normally wear glasses and do you need special lenses for the headset?
