More expensive, but…
The Zeekr That makes this compact electric SUV a brother of the Volvo EX30 and Smart #1, but at least €45,990 it is more expensive than those two cars. There’s a reason for that.
Zeekr
We previously made an initial, theoretical comparison between the Volvo EX30, the Smart #1 and the Zeekr One thing has changed since then: after the Volvo, the Smart is also available with a smaller battery pack, bringing its base price below 40 grand. That seems harsh for the Zeekr However, the Zeekr, the first model of a completely new brand, is not available with this smaller battery pack. The correct price ratio is therefore that between the Long Range versions, all of which are sent on the road with 69 kWh and 272 hp. In that configuration, the Smart costs at least €42,395 and the Volvo at least €41,495. This means the difference is smaller, but the Zeekr is still easily the most expensive of the three.
The Zeekr Moreover, unlike Volvo and Smart, Zeekr does not offer different equipment levels at all. Anyone who buys a Zeekr The list of standard equipment is extensive for the Zeekr X:
- 19-inch alloy
- LED headlights
- Electric tailgate
- Fixed panoramic roof
- Black roof
- Privacy glass
- Electrically adjustable seats
- Steering wheel heating, seat heating, driver’s seat ventilation
- Two-zone climate control
- 14.6-inch touchscreen with navigation
- Head up display
- Wireless phone charger
- Yamaha audio system with 13 speakers
- Extensive driving assistance package including Highway Assist
There are no separate options, but there is still something to choose from at Zeekr. That starts with the drivetrain, because in addition to the ‘basic version’ Long Range RWD, there is also a Privilege AWD. It has four-wheel drive and 428 hp and offers an additional massage function on the front seats and 20-instead of 19-inch alloys. Then there are colors and coverings. The Zeekr This looks more like ice blue in the images above, but in practice it is more the kind of ‘primer gray’ that we also know from other brands. There are three other colors – beige, white and green – but they cost at least €1,200 extra. The interior is gray as standard, in combination with black. That doesn’t look bad at all, but the ‘Midnight Blue & Polar White’ option – white with blue – is more spectacular. Your wallet thinks so too: it costs €1,500.
Finally, let’s take a look at the accessory price list, which contains three things. An extra charging cable costs €399, a set of dirt-resistant floor mats costs €170 and Zeekr charges a reasonable €849 for a tow bar. This is actually useful, because the Zeekr X has a maximum towing capacity of 1,600 kg. Yes: also standard!
