Zeekr 001 to Europe in 2023
The Zeekr 001 is an interesting electric car that will become even more interesting after a model year update. The Zeekr 001 – which is also coming to Europe – is now also available with a whopping 140 kWh battery pack that enables a range of more than 1,000 kilometers.
Like Lynk & Co, Volvo and Polestar, Zeekr is a brand of the Chinese giant Geely. For the time being, Zeekr is unknown in Europe, but the brand does not seem to stay that way for long. Zeekr will also come to Europe in 2023. The brand starts its European adventure with the Zeekr 001, an electric car that was already interesting, but will become even more interesting with the arrival of a huge battery pack.
The Zeekr 001 itself is not new. The car was presented to the Chinese public as a concept car from Lynk & Co in 2020 and became Zeekr’s first production model in 2021. The Zeekr 001 was already available with 86 kWh and 100 kWh large battery packs, electric lung capacity with which the 001, depending on the chosen engine version, successively traveled up to 545 kilometers and 740 kilometers. Those packages will be retained, but Zeekr will add a third battery pack to the range. That package has a capacity of no less than 140 kWh and gives the Zeekr 001 a range of no less than 1,032 kilometers. Mind you: that was measured according to the not very accurate CLTC method, but it still sounds promising.
The most powerful Zeekr 001 has two electric motors with a total of 544 hp, which means that the 4.97-meter long 001 – which shares its platform with the Polestar 4 to be released this year – buzzes to a speed of 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds.
