View of the light of the 5 Series
The new BMW M5, and with it the new BMW 5-series yet to be unveiled, is showing more. We now see the definitive headlights and taillights for the first time.
The BMW M5 has already passed by on your favorite car site, twice in fact. However, BMW has apparently reached the next test phase, and is therefore saying goodbye to some of the camouflage material. Grille, side skirts, exhausts, wheel arches and wheels can therefore be seen better or in final form. The exterior mirrors are also different from the previous cars. They now have the ‘half legs’ so characteristic of M models at the top, again a sign that the car is closer to the final product.
The most important visual news, however, is the lighting. Earlier cars still had a kind of emergency lighting, with universal headlights, taillights and turn signal behind transparent plastic. Now we see the definitive LED light units, albeit still firmly camouflaged.
Anyone who is shocked by the XM – and who is not – can breathe a sigh of relief. The new M5 will be a lot less violent and controversial and that also applies to the less powerful models from the 5 series. In terms of powertrain, there is also a major revolution on the program for the M5, because this super sports car will also be a plug-in hybrid. Count on over 700 horsepower. That is also ‘necessary’, because competitor Mercedes even gives the smaller C-class 680 hp.
