The new Esprit C7 HMS e-bike from Gazelle is a city bike that should make daily trips to school and work a lot easier and more enjoyable, even if you have to carry a lot of stuff.

We have previously reported on 3 electric bicycles from Gazelle that passed the test. In this article you can read why the Gazelle HeavyDuty C7+ HMB e-bike, the Gazelle Makki Load Connect and the Gazelle Grenoble C7+ HMB were rated ‘Best Tested’. Gazelle now introduces the Esprit C7 HMS, the latest electric model from the popular Esprit family.

Esprit C7 HMS is robust

The Esprit C7 HMS has a stable and lightweight aluminum frame and the vulnerable parts are all integrated into the bike as much as possible. You can see this in the compact side display on the handlebars and the headlight that is half recessed in the steering head. The aluminum rear carrier rims and chain guard are also made extra robust. In this way, the e-bike must be able to take a beating. Handy for bomb pilots or if someone else in the bike rack is less careful.

City bike with lots of space
The practical details show that the Esprit C7 HMS is a real city bike for everyday use. For example, the rear carrier is equipped with MIK HD, a well-known click system for attaching a bicycle bag, basket or other accessory, so that all groceries can easily be taken along. Connecting and disconnecting takes place within a few seconds, so that you will be inside with your belongings in no time. HD stands for heavy duty, so a child seat or heavier bags can also be used effortlessly.
It is possible to mount a carrier made of metal or bamboo at the front. This way you can easily transform your Esprit C7 HMS into a practical transport bike.

Battery selection
With the support of the Shimano STEPS E5000 you can move forward extra smoothly and smoothly. This mid-engine runs on a battery that is partly integrated into the sloping frame. With a choice between a battery capacity of 418 and 504 Wh, the Esprit C7 HMS easily has enough range for every daily ride. The battery can be removed from the bicycle with the bicycle key, but it is also possible to charge the battery directly with a plug in the bicycle.

Control on the go
The Esprit C7 HMS is equipped with seven gears (Shimano Nexus 7), giving you confidence and the feeling of control on the road and getting over every hill without breaking a sweat. Schwalbe’s wider tires (50 millimetres) provide extra grip and comfort even on cobbled roads and uneven paths. Because cycling in busy city traffic can sometimes lead to unexpected situations, this electric city bike is equipped with a strong pair of hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano. These brakes provide a lot of braking power and a high dosage capacity, even during the typical wet Dutch days.

Two frame options
The new Esprit C7 HMS is available in two versions: there is a version with a double down tube frame for extra easy entry, while you can also opt for the classic high-step frame with a top tube.

Price, colors and availability

In terms of color options, the bicycle fits in perfectly with today’s trend. The e-bike is available in the trendy colors Moss Green Matt and Space Anthracite Matt. The Esprit C7 HMS is available from 2,399 euros (with a battery of 418 Wh).
