Nio ET7

The Chinese Nio is spreading its wings to Europe. In Europe, the brand will first be marketed in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands. The delivery range initially consists of three electric cars: the Nio ET5, the ET7 and the EL7. The Dutch prizes of those three debutants are now known.

Six years ago, Nio introduced himself to the world with much fanfare. The new brand then introduced the EP9, an electric supercar that was not exactly a good example of what it wants to attack the international car market. The brand will supply three less exotic but still interesting cars in the Netherlands: the Nio ET5, the Nio ET7 and the Nio EL7. To a certain extent, the ET5 and ET7 should be seen as opponents of cars such as the Tesla’s Model 3 and Model S, the EL7 being the only SUV of the bunch. AutoWeek could tell you the fiscal prices earlier. Now we have all prices including costs to prepare for driving, but also those of the Nios that you can buy without a battery. What’s up with that?

Nio ET5

Nio ET5

The Nio ET5 is currently the smallest of the Nio range. It is an electric sedan that is 4.79 meters long, which is about 10 centimeters longer than its dead competitor: the Tesla Model 3. The wheelbase of 2.89 meters is only a few centimeters longer than that of the Model 3. The Nio ET5 has two electric motors that together produce 490 hp and is available with a 75 kWh battery, but also with a 100 kWh large one. The NT5 ‘Standard’ has the 75 kWh model and thus reaches 445 WLTP kilometers. If you go for the Nio ET5 Lang with 100 kWh of electric lung capacity, you can count on a range of up to 580 kilometers.

The Nio ET5 has a starting price of €51,900 in the Netherlands. In that case you do not get the battery pack, you have to rent it through Nio’s Battery-as-a-service construction (BaaS). An additional advantage with this construction: at a Nio battery exchange station you can exchange an empty battery pack for a new one in 5 minutes. For the €51,900 ET5 you pay €169 per month for the battery. Do you want the battery pack to be all yours? Count on a starting price of €63,900 for the ET5 Standard (75 kWh). Nio also charges a starting price of €51,900 for the Nio ET5 Lang with a 100 kW battery in the case of battery rental. You do pay €289 monthly for the battery pack. You can also buy the ET5 Long including battery. In that case you have lost €72,900. The first units of the Nio ET5 will be delivered in April 2023.

Depending on the chosen variant, you pay monthly €1,089 to €1,258 for the ET5 via a private lease construction.

Nio ET7

Then there’s the Nio ET7, the big, low-end brother of the ET5. It measures 5.1 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 3.06 meters. It is not only bigger, but also more powerful than the ET5. The two electric motors of the Nio ET7 together produce 653 hp and 850 Nm. However, the ET7 is available with the same battery packs as the ET5. Here too, there is a Standard version with 75 kWh and a Lang version with a 100 kWh battery pack. The Nio ET7 with 75 kWh battery can travel up to 445 kilometers on a single charge. The version with a 100 kWh battery kicks it up to 580 kilometers.

The Nio ET7 has a starting price of €72,900. That amount is for the Nio ET7 where you rent the 75 kWh battery, just like with the ET5 for a monthly amount of €169. Do you want to buy the Nio ET7 Standard (75 kWh) with battery? Then count on a starting price of €84,900. The Nio ET7 with 100 kWh (Lang) has the same price without a purchased battery as the variant with the smaller package (€72,900), but you pay more monthly for the battery (€289). You can of course also buy the Nio ET7 Long including battery, but then you have to transfer €93,900 to Nio. The first units of the Nio ET7 are expected to be delivered in February 2023.

The private lease rates for the Nio ET7 – depending on the chosen version and the lease construction – are €1,299 to €1,504 per month.

Nio EL7

Nio EL7

Nio EL7

The Nio EL7 is the only SUV in the Nio family. It is 4.91 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2.96 meters. Just like the ET7, this electric SUV has the two together more than 650 hp electric motors. This buzzes you to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds. It will not surprise you that the Nio EL7 is also available with a 75 kWh battery and with a 100 kWh large one. With the 75 kWh battery you can reach up to 394 kilometers, the 100 kWh large model gives you a range of 513 kilometers.

The Nio EL7 Standard (75 kWh) with battery will cost you €88,900. Prefer rent? Then the EL7 costs €76,900, but then you will lose €169 euros monthly. The Nio EL7 Lang with 100 kWh battery will cost you €97,900 including that package. Here too, the following applies: if you prefer to rent the battery, you will have to pay €76,900 for the car without a battery, but then you will pay €289 per month. The Nio EL7 is expected in the Netherlands in March 2023. The private lease rates for the Nio EL7 – depending on the chosen version and the lease construction – are €1,369 to €1,546 per month.
