MG has presented a new model in China. Although, the MG 6 Pro is not completely fresh. It is an optically modified MG 6. The 6 Pro is a step above the regular 6 on the Chinese menu and looks slightly more aggressive than the model on which it is based.
Although the Chinese MG is rapidly expanding its European model range, the MG 6, just like the MG 5, is actually a virtually unknown model here. The current generation MG 6 was introduced to the Chinese market in 2016 and served as the successor to the first generation of the model, also sold in the United Kingdom. That was in fact MG’s variant of the Roewe 550 and that means that traces of the Rover 75 could still be found under the coach. The current MG 6 was slightly refreshed in China not long ago and now the model is introduced to a Pro version.
MG 6 Pro
The MG 6 Pro looks like a sporty MG 6 from every angle, but there is something special going on with the front. He has a whole new front. An immense grille dominates the front view, but there is more. For the MG 6 Pro, the brand refers the relatively conventionally designed headlights of the regular 6 to the wastepaper basket. The MG 6 Pro has flat, wide and even quite common to the world in piercing viewers. The placement of the brand logo is also striking. That is no longer in the middle of the grille, but on the piece between the grille and the hood. The hood, like the front bumper, has been completely redesigned. MG also mounts a rather fierce-looking rear spoiler and a matching rear bumper, complete with diffuser and two chutes. The model stands on black light metal behind which red brake calipers are hiding.
MG 6 Pro
Inside, the MG 6 Pro benefits from the arrival of a fully digital instrumentation, with a three-spoke steering wheel and paddle shifters. Central on the dashboard is the 10.1-inch infotainment screen with sleek physical buttons underneath. Despite the sporty appearance, the drivetrain is relatively modest. According to Chinese media, the MG 6 Pro gets a 180 hp and 285 Nm strong blown 1.5 three-cylinder under the hood.
