Spotify adds function
Spotify has added another handy function! The music service has improved the Discover Weekly playlist with new regulators. This playlist is different for every users and is intended to discover new music. To achieve that, Spotify puts together a personal playlist for you, which is based on the music you have listened to before. Every Monday you will find a unique discover weekly list in Spotify.
The playlist of Spotify consists of thirty songs that you have never listened to before. Discover Weekly is an easy way for smaller artists to reach a larger audience. For listeners this is the playlist to discover new music, but not everyone was satisfied with the musical suggestions. Spotify has now come up with a solution, because Discover Weekly has been expanded with genres.
Discover Weekly even more personal
Do you regularly listen to your Discover Weekly list in Spotify? In that case you have a new feature. In the most recent version of Spotify you can select in which genre you want to discover new music. Above the playlist, Spotify shows five genre, from which you can choose. If you select one of these genres, Spotify adjusts the Discover Weekly list based on that music style. This makes your discover weekly even more personal.
With the playlist on Spotify you can select a maximum of one genre at the same time. Thirty new songs are then shown within this music style. This way you can better adjust Discover Weekly on your mood and discover more songs within a genre more easily. Do you want to discover different music styles? Then you can also switch off the filter, so that you get playlist with different genres.
New feature now available
Spotify has added the genres to the most recent version of the app, so the buttons can now be used by everyone. The genres are based on the music you have listened to lately, making it easier for you to describe your music style. You can find the Discover Weekly playlist on the Spotify home screen. Scroll down on the home screen, the playlist is below ‘especially for [naam] > Discover Weekly ‘.
Do you not see the latest function yet? Then check if an update is available for Spotify in the App Store. The music service regularly releases updated software versions, with which new features and other improvements come to the application.
