Philips recently gave a preview of 3 new models that will be on sale by the summer. These are the Philips Fidelio FB1 soundbar, Philips Fidelio FW1 subwoofer and the Philips Fidelio FS1 satellite speaker.
Philips TV & Sound will release many new products in 2022. They recently announced the launch of the Philips 8807 Ambilight TV and Philips B8507 soundbar and of the expansion of their sports range, the Philips S7807 and S4807 bluetooth speakers and A7507 in-ears.
Now it’s time for a completely new and wireless AV platform, consisting of Fidelio FB1 soundbar, Fidelio FW1 subwoofer and the Fidelio FS1 speaker.
Philips Fidelio FB1 sound bar
The Philips Fidelio FBI soundbar is a slim 7.1.2 soundbar designed to complement the latest borderless televisions and features 15 drivers and 310 watts (RMS) of power. Furthermore, the soundbar is divided into independent housings for the LCR sections to minimize crosstalk and ensure good clarity. Each of the LCR channels features a pair of midrange drivers mounted on either side of a tweeter in a D’Appolito arrangement that allow for better integration of the mid and high ranges. Furthermore, two side-firing drivers are mounted, one at each end of the beam for a surround sound effect. Further expansion is provided by two Dolby Atmos elevation drivers mounted on top of the beam on either side of a dedicated bass enclosure containing two subwoofers. The premium finish for which the Philips Fidelio range is known can be found in a Muirhead leather wrap around the beveled edge of the soundbar and an acoustically transparent metal mesh.
Philips Fidelio FW1 wireless subwoofer
The wireless Philips Fidelio FW1 subwoofer features a downward-firing 8-inch woofer driver, along with two side-mounted large passive radiators. The subwoofer is equipped with a 200 watt (RMS) amplifier for deep bass. Finally, the subwoofer is finished with Muirhead leather and wood and an aluminum top.
Philips Fidelio FS1 wireless speaker
The wireless Fidelio FS1 speaker can be used as a single unit, as a stereo pair or as a satellite speaker in a 7.1.4 system with the FB1 and FW1. The wireless speaker features a mounted forward-firing tweeter, an angled upward-firing mid-range unit and a downward-firing woofer in its own dedicated section of the housing. The bass is further enhanced by the addition of two passive radiators. The power is 60 watts (RMS), making the FS1 perform well in medium to large rooms. The Fidelio FS1 wireless speaker is also finished with Muirhead leather mixed with metal. In addition, the FS1 includes built-in LED bulbs designed to work and sync with Philips Ambilight TVs.
Philips Fidelio
The Philips Fidelio wireless AV system is based on the patented DTS Play-Fi technology and uses a premium, app-driven multi-room audio platform. This enables easy connection and streaming between compatible TVs, smartphones, sound bars and speakers. In addition, the new Philips Fidelio range works with an ‘intelligent’ ecosystem, where each speaker can detect when it is connected to another Fidelio product. For example, a connection can be made to the Philips Fidelio FB1 soundbar, the Philips Fidelio FW1 subwoofer and a Philips Fidelio FS1 speaker can be added for use as a channel at the back. A second Philips Fidelio FS1 speaker can also be added to create a stereo effect.
Price and availability
The Philips Fidelio FB1 soundbar will be available from May 2022 with a suggested retail price of €799.99.
The Philips Fidelio FW1 subwoofer will be available from May 2022 with a suggested retail price of €499.99.
The Philips Fidelio FS1 speaker will be available from June 2022 with a suggested retail price of €299.99.
