Phillips Fidelio L4
Continuing the Fidelio philosophy, the L4 headphones should offer a combination of good audio performance, long battery life, active noise cancellation, and proper fit and comfort.
The Fidelio L4 has a 40mm graphene coated driver, which provides extra stiffness without extra weight. As a result, the driver offers lower distortion, resulting in a clear mid- and high-range sound. An energy-efficient multi-point connection is guaranteed by the latest 5.3 version of Bluetooth with Auracast broadcasting and LE audio. Compatibility with LC3 and LDAC codecs enables the Fidelio L4 to provide the highest quality wireless audio, with hi-res audio playback also available via the included 3.5mm mini-jack cable or via USB-C.
The Philips Fidelio L4’s Hybrid Adaptive ANC four-microphone system is also enhanced by the microphone vent port that moves external sound (feed forward) to the back of the ear cup, where it is less sensitive to wind noise. The sensitivity of the feed forward microphone can also be automatically reduced as wind noise increases. An additional built-in voice recording microphone is intended to remove background noise, ensuring the user of crystal clear sound during calls.
The Fidelio L4 is equipped with an improved battery that offers a whopping 50 hours of playback time, and 40 hours with ANC on. What’s more, just 15 minutes of fast charging delivers 5 hours of playback time. Ease of use is guaranteed thanks to leather-wrapped touch controls with swipe, tap and press actions and voice assistance via Google Assistant compatibility.
Philips Fidelio T2 premium ANC earbuds
The new Fidelio T2 earbuds should provide the highest quality and full range audio performance thanks to the advanced design with a new large 9.2mm graphene coated driver and optimized small and highly efficient balanced armature driver. Good audio and reliable connections should come thanks to the application of 5.3 version of Bluetooth (with Google Fast Pair) with LE audio and the LC3 codec. In addition, the Fidelio T2 also offers the LDAC-encoded option for music in the highest resolution quality.
In total, the Philips Fidelio T2 has six microphones, three microphones in each earbud. Of these six microphones, two provide maximum adaptive noise reduction. Also, the Fidelio T2 has two dedicated voice recording microphones, one per earbud and now using bone conduction technology to reduce wind noise.
The Fidelio T2 is 20% smaller compared to its predecessor, and the charging case is a whopping 40% smaller. Despite its smaller size, the T2’s battery life remains excellent with nine hours of continuous playback with ANC activated and a further 27 hours of playback available from the charging case. A full charge of the Fidelio T2 takes only two hours, with an additional hour of playback time available after just five minutes of charging. The Fidelio T2 is splash proof with an IPX4 rating.
Philips A5508 TWS and A5608
Philips Sound expands the current GO Sports collection with two new mid-range models. The combination of comfort, robustness, water resistance and high audio quality makes these models suitable for people with an active lifestyle. The Philips A5508 TWS earplugs have a low distortion 8mm graphene coated driver to ensure clear sound quality. The model is also equipped with a hybrid ANC system with built-in wind noise reduction.
The Philips A5608 is the latest open-ear model that uses bone conduction technology, which provides users with additional safety by allowing them to hear ambient noise immediately. In addition, the new model also has a built-in LED running light in the belt.
The A5508 and A5608 use the latest reliable Bluetooth 5.3 with the LC3 codec, for good sound and energy efficiency, and a multi-point connection. In addition, the models guarantee high call quality thanks to a dual microphone system with automatic detail adjustment via AI. Both headphones have good battery life and fast charging times. The A5508 offers seven hours of playback with ANC, with a further 21 hours from the charging case, and an additional hour of playback from just five minutes of fast charging. The A5608 offers six hours of playback with an additional hour on a 15-minute quick charge. The A5508 and A5608 are ideal for the active outdoor life and should both provide long-lasting fun thanks to IPX5 sweat and water resistance, according to Philips.
Philips N7808 sleep headphones should provide a good night’s sleep
The new Philips N7808, the first Philips sleep headphones in collaboration with sleep scientist Kokoon, offers an answer to disturbed sleep. The Philips N7808 headphones have excellent noise isolation that works in combination with an intelligent noise masking function. The feature uses specially tuned, slow-introduced white noise to smooth out peaks in external noise that can disrupt sleep. In addition, the new model helps wearers fall asleep more easily through sensors in the earbuds. The audio delivery of the earplugs can be adjusted by the user, so that the audio automatically fades out when one slowly falls asleep.
The Philips N7808 is mounted behind the head in a slim housing, making it easy and comfortable to keep the headphones in the ear all night. Due to this narrow housing and the use of balanced armature drivers, the Philips N7808 has the smallest profile of only 6 mm thick, unlike the > 20 mm housing of most earplugs.
The new Philips sleep headphones work together with the Kokoon app to improve understanding and management of a wearer’s sleep, which is continuously monitored via accelerometers and a small, optical heart rate monitor in the earbud. This heart rate monitor works by shining light into the skin and measuring how this light is scattered in the body’s circulatory system. This information can then be used to help users better understand and navigate their night’s sleep.
The N7808 has a battery life of 10 hours and can also be used to make calls and stream music, including via Apple Music, Audible, Spotify, You Tube, the Calm and Headspace Apps or via the Kokoon App.
