Shooting photos in the dark with a smartphone? Normally you’d better leave it alone, but the iPhone 13 Pro (Max) is a star with night photography. iPhoned went out and shared the first nighttime photos of the iPhone 13 Pro.
iPhone 13 Pro night photography
The camera of the iPhone 13 Pro has been given a major upgrade – literally and figuratively. Because the improved camera sensors (which have become larger) capture more light, the iPhone 13 Pro takes the best photos even in low light.
The performance of the camera in the night hours is astonishing. The camera manages to take great pictures in low light situations. Below we share photos we shot last night with the iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 11 Pro.

The difference is clearly visible. With the iPhone 13 Pro, the photos are razor sharp (unfortunately less so on this website because the photos have to be compressed), well exposed and they have beautiful colors – without any post-processing involved.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have the iPhone 12 Pro to hand. You still have comparison photos between the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro from us – just like an extensive iPhone 13 review. Please sign up for our newsletter to stay informed.
Night Mode iPhone 13 Pro
Shooting with the Night mode now also works great with the ultra wide angle lens. The aperture has become much larger, giving the lens 92 percent better performance in low light. For example, photos with the ultra-wide-angle lens are now also worthwhile in the dark.
Also new is that Night mode is available for the first time on the telephoto lens and it also works with portrait photos for the first time.
