No matter how well you know your iPhone, there are always things that you miss – that’s why we’ve listed 10 indispensable features in these iPhone tips!
10 iPhone tips you shouldn’t miss
You may already know some of these 10 iPhone tips, but most people certainly don’t know them all. We put them together for you! And do you want to get even more out of your iPhone? Then take a look at our special edition here, with which you will discover all the important and secret functions of your iPhone:
1. Adaptive flow
Adaptive Power Mode uses AI to learn your iPhone habits. If you use more battery on a given day, this setting can adjust or disable other features to reduce energy consumption. This is how you enable it:
- Open the Settings app;
- Tap ‘Battery’;
- Scroll down and tap ‘Power saving mode’;
- Turn on ‘Adaptive Flow’.

Adaptive power is only available on newer iPhone models. You can achieve much the same on older devices by limiting which apps can be refreshed in the background.
2. Alarm clock in the Reminders app
You can set an alarm for a reminder in the app of the same name. In that case you will not receive a notification, but your alarm will go off. You can then choose to snooze or turn off. This is how you set it:
- Open the Reminders app;
- Create a new reminder or open an existing one;
- In the function bar, tap the calendar icon;
- Tap ‘Custom’ and enable the ‘Urgent’ option;
- Enter the desired date and time and tap the check mark at the top right.

3. Copy link with highlight
The ‘Copy link with highlight’ feature lets you highlight a piece of text from Safari and share it with someone. The link then leads directly to the place on the website that you want to show. You do this by selecting the text and then tapping on the selection. In the shortcut menu that then appears, choose ‘Copy link with highlight’.

4. More options for the action button
By default, you assign one action to the action button. But if you set it to a Command, you can create a popup with multiple options. So you then have access to multiple shortcuts. This is completely customizable and you are only limited to what the Shortcuts app can do. You can adjust the function of the action button by tapping ‘Action button’ in the Settings app. Then swipe horizontally until you find ‘Assignment’. Then tap ‘Choose an assignment’ to add an assignment.

5. Effective Search in Messages
Searching in the Messages app isn’t exactly optimal and it can be difficult to find what you’re looking for. Fortunately, there is an (English) Command that allows you to also add parameters such as a date. Plus, you can organize the results with the newest posts at the top. Tap this link and then click ‘Get Assignment’ to add the Assignment.

6. AirPods as a remote control for your camera
You can use the button on your AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods 4 as a remote control for your iPhone’s camera. By squeezing the stem of the AirPods, you can take a photo or start a video. Ideal for hands-free recording.
7. Adjust sleep duration
Since iOS 26, you are no longer limited to a snooze period of 9 minutes when the alarm goes off. You can now adjust the time and snooze a little shorter or longer in the morning. The option is right below the snooze switch when you set the alarm.

8. Podcasts options
In the Podcasts app you can adjust the ‘Improve dialogues’ settings and the playback speed per program. This means you don’t have to use the same settings for every podcast. Just tap the current playback speed (left) to change the settings.

9. Snooze notifications
You can snooze notifications from, for example, Calendar. Just long-press the notification that appears on the lock screen and tap Snooze. You can then choose a snooze time of a few minutes, an hour or a time of your choosing.

10. Screenshots
Would you rather not view screenshots in full screen anymore? You can disable this feature very easily. You do this as follows:
- Open the Settings app;
- Tap ‘General’ and then ‘Screenshot’;
- Turn off Full Screen Previews.
