7 percent of all Polestars 2 drives around in the Netherlands
Polestar is not only doing good business with the electric 2 in the Netherlands, the demand for the Polestar is also considerable beyond our borders. The Polestar 2 has only been around for 2.5 years, but the 100,000th example has already been produced.
Since mid-2020, Polestar has been building the 2 in Luqiao, China, a relatively high-standing EV that is now available with various powertrains. After 2.5 years, the 100,000th Polestar 2 has left the factory gates. The 100,000th Polestar 2 has the same design as the first one built. The jubilee copy – complete with sticker on the flank showing its production number – is destined for a customer in Ireland.
The Polestar 2 is available in 27 different markets. The Dutch is one of them. After the limited series built plug-in hybrid Polestar 1, the Polestar 2 was the first EV from Volvo’s sister brand. In 2020, 2,953 copies found a Dutch owner. The following year, 2,558 units were registered in our country over the first ten months of this year, the counter stands at 1,421 units. In total, about 7 percent of all Polestars 2 built are driving around in the Netherlands.

In the Netherlands, the Polestar 2 currently has a starting price of €52,200. For that amount you get the Long Range Single Motor variant. It has a 231 hp and 330 Nm strong electric motor and buzzes to a speed of 100 km / h in 7.4 seconds. Thanks to the 78 kWh battery, its range is 515-551 kilometers. For €56,200, the more powerful Long Range Dual Motor is at your doorstep, which has two electric motors with 408 hp and 660 Nm together. In this variant – also with a 78 kWh battery – you can reach 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Its range: 455 to 487 kilometers. Above that is the Long Range Dual Motor with Performance Pack. This version costs €62,700 and with 476 hp and 680 Nm is by far the strongest Polestar 2 you can buy. You can sprint to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The range is the same as that of the Long Range Dual Motor without Performance Pack.
Until recently, you could also order the Polestar 2 as a Standard Range Single Motor. This flavor has the same 231 hp electric motor as the Long Range Dual Motor, but comes less far (445-478 kilometers) with its smaller 69 kWh battery. The Polestar 2 Standard Range Single Motor will be available to order again from the first quarter of next year. Incidentally, the Polestar 2 seems to be facelifted in the foreseeable future.
