The internet is full of fun videos, pictures and articles. On YouTube, the creators have become extremely creative and professional in recent decades. In this article we introduce you to three YouTube (mini-)series that you didn’t know you liked yet!
YouTube is full of free quality series
We are gradually watching more and more internet videos instead of the ‘regular’ television channels. Rightly so! The quality of these TV shows/series on YouTube has improved tremendously over the past ten years. You can also watch it all for free!
YouTube, on the other hand, is also a jumble of heaps of content. That’s why we filter it especially for you. In this article we present three of our favorite series on YouTube; ‘Straight Line Missions’, ‘Colin Furze’s Tunnel’ and ‘VFX Artists React’. These web shows may not be directly in your area of interest or you may already know them. However, due to the understandable presentations and the fun editing, all three have the potential to be new to everyone. binge watchto be material. Is there something nice in between?
YouTube Series 1: Straight Line Missions from GeoWizard
This quiet geography freak from England originally made a name for himself by playing the online game very accurately GeoGuessr to play. However, Tom Davies has much better content up his sleeve than ‘finding out where he is on the map using Google Street View’.
In his recurring YouTube series ‘Straight Line Missions’, this timid Briton tries to cross a country in a straight line with the help of a GPS system. Accompanied by a friend and homemade 8-bit music, Davies encounters a lot of memorable things. Think of things like angry farmers and deadly quicksand.

What makes this online TV show so appealing is its calm nature (Davies takes his time), the poetic voice overs and the apparent seriousness of the mission. With countries such as Wales, Scotland and Norway (we won’t tell you which ones succeeded), the GeoWizard is a real modern explorer in a world that seems to have been combed through already. The half-hour episodes can be viewed for free on his Youtube Channelâ€
YouTube Series 2: Corridor Crew’s VFX Artist React
This series sits in a different corner of YouTube. If you are a movie buff, these episodes are for you. Corridor Crew is the behind-the-scenes-Corridor channel. This movie studio produces their own short videos and has grown massively through YouTube. At the YouTube series ‘VFX Artist React‘ they show all the tricks the animators, CGI specialists and cameramen use to make the films look as real as possible.
Many famous people from Hollywood sit on their famous dark green couch to talk about how they did certain VFX (visual effects). The interesting thing about this series is that Niko, Wren, Sam and their guests explain it in such a way that even your 100-year-old grandmother can still follow it.
With this ‘React’ series, Corridor Crew gives a very interesting look into the world behind the making of movies and TV shows. Other forms of this reaction series deal with stunts, choreography of fight scenes, the bizarre natural laws of Bollywood and Pixar animations. They also explain to you in a manageable manner when a scene does not come out very well. The creator of those ‘bad’ visual effects treats them with respect.
So, are you curious about how we use computers to fool everyone? Check out Corridor Crew! In addition to this reaction show, they also show what they make themselves, they build satisfying videos and falsify UFO movies.
YouTube Series 3: Colin Furze’s Underground Tunnel
Colin Furze is another quirky Brit who is hugely popular on YouTube. This garden-and-kitchen inventor is, however, a bit more eccentric than GeoWizard. Once a plumber, he now makes videos full-time for his YouTube channel about building the weirdest objects; from a hovercraft to upside-down magnetic shoes. Everything is done from his shed in England.
In the ‘Underground Tunnel‘ series connect Furze to his underground man cavebunker, which he made in previous episodes, with his shed and his house. You would think, if I want to look at tunnels, I’ll look for real miners. But what makes Furze so special is his infectious enthusiasm and his DIY approach. Anyone could do this (in theory, of course).

This series about the tunnel and the bunker has been running for three years and the project is slowly being completed. Furze has also created beautiful DIY vehicles and weapons for Top Gear, Star Wars and other iconic shows. Package safety tie just join in and enjoy!
YouTube: free, but with (annoying) advertisements
You can watch unlimited videos on YouTube. Unfortunately, you get to see commercials very often (and very long) these days. Fortunately, YouTube has introduced a Premium account. For 11.99 euros per month, the commercials disappear, you can play the video in the background and listen to all the music. You don’t get YouTube Music with cheaper subscriptions. This is similar to Apple Music.
