1. Dictate
WhatsApp has various options for sending messages. You can type a text message, make a speech recording or record a short video. Do you not like to record your own voice, or would the recipient prefer not get speech messages? Then it is advisable to use the dictation function in WhatsApp. With the function, WhatsApp converts you spoken words into written text. This is how you dictate on your iPhone:
- Open ‘settings’ on your iPhone;
- Go to ‘General’;
- Tap ‘keyboard’;
- Turn on the switch ‘switch on dictation function’.
Have you enabled the dictation function? Then go to WhatsApp and open a conversation of your choice. Under the keyboard you will now find a microphone, with which you can dictate. To do that, hold down the microphone and speak the message that you want to send. With this position on, WhatsApp naturally makes a text message. Note, because the microphone above the keyboard is intended to make speech admissions.
2. Hide sensitive information
Sending photos and documents is easy via WhatsApp. When sending images you have different ways to edit the photo. You can add (on) drawings or filters, but that’s not all. WhatsApp also gives the option to blurr sensitive information. For this, WhatsApp has added a new feature to the menu to edit photos. That’s how it works:
- Open ‘WhatsApp’ and go to a conversation of your choice;
- Tap the plus sign (+) above the keyboard;
- Select ‘photos’ and choose the image you want to edit;
- Tap on the pole next to ‘Add caption …’;
- Choose the pole in the right corner of the screen again;
- Select the drawing style on the right side of the display;
- Draw a line through the information you want to hide.
With this function, WhatsApp ensures that you can easily hide sensitive information. This is especially useful if, for example, you forward a photo of your driver’s license or passport. It is rare that all data from these documents are required, so that you can better blur irrelevant information. This way you prevent abuse of the photos or documents that you share via WhatsApp. Of course you can also use the feature to edit business documents in the application.
3. Organize stickers
WhatsApp has recently added a series of new functions to the application, of which the organizing of stickers is one. Users share more and more stickers with each other, which can easily be stored by the recipient on WhatsApp. Finding stickers is less easy, because all pictures are thrown on a pile for most users. Sending the right sticker quickly and at the right time is therefore regularly a challenge.
WhatsApp has now come up with a solution, because you can divide the stickers into different folders. These sticker packages ensure that you know where to look for certain pictures. That is not all, WhatsApp has also added a function with which you can easily share the sticker packages with other contacts. Here we explained earlier how you use the new feature from WhatsApp.
