Apple is working on iPhone SE 2025
While we will only see the iPhone 16 series this year, Apple will probably release another iPhone in 2025. The cheaper iPhone SE 4 finally appears. Apple released the last entry-level iPhone model in 2022. In 2025, the iPhone SE will receive a major update, with quite a few new features. According to rumors, four new features are now almost certain. Here they are.
1. Bigger screen
The biggest changes to the iPhone SE 2025 are reflected in the design. The current iPhone SE still resembles the iPhone 8, with a 4.7-inch display and the home button. With the new design, the iPhone SE 4 has thinner edges and a larger screen. The phone will have a 6.1-inch OLED display, approximately the same size as the iPhone 15. For a smaller device, you will have to rely on the iPhone 13 mini from next year.
2. Face ID
The new design means that Apple is finally saying goodbye to the home button on the iPhone. Instead, the iPhone SE 2025 finally gets Face ID. The iPhone SE still has to make do with Touch ID, but that will change next year. We will probably find the Face ID camera in the notch, the notch at the top of the screen. The Dynamic Island will reportedly remain for the regular iPhones.
3. A16 Bionic or A17 chip
With the iPhone SE 2022, Apple used an outdated design, but the phone did run on an extremely fast processor. With the iPhone SE 2025, Apple is expected to use a new and powerful chip again. There is a good chance that we will then see the A16 Bionic or A17 chip, which is already in the iPhone 15. With the powerful processor, the phone can last for years to come.
4. USB-C
There is no doubt about the last function of the iPhone SE 2025, because Apple is required to provide the phone with a USB-C connection. This is the result of European legislation and also the reason that the iPhone 15 already has USB-C. With the next iPhone SE, Apple is also saying goodbye to the Lightning port in addition to Touch ID.
When will the iPhone SE 2025 be released?
The iPhone SE 2025 will therefore be much more advanced than the current version. It remains to be seen exactly when the next cheap iPhone will appear. In any case, it is clear that the phone will not arrive this year. According to rumors, we can’t expect the iPhone SE 4 until 2025, Apple will first launch the iPhone 16. So for now we will have to wait a little longer.
