El refugio atómico is a Spanish thriller and drama series, created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, known from La Casa de Papel. The series follows a group of billionaires who take refuge in a luxurious underground bunker, the Kimera Underground Park, to survive the threat of World War III. While enjoying all the amenities in this bunker, such as a basketball court, spa and cocktail bar, old feuds and family rivalries between two families surface, turning the bunker into a hotbed of tension, secrets and conflict. The series combines drama, thriller and social criticism and continuously keeps the viewer in suspense with unexpected twists and mysteries surrounding the residents and their hidden agendas.
